Marquetry Writing Table: An exceptional 19th century English marquetry and parquetry writing table in the Louis XVI manner, the kidney shaped embossed leather top bordered by burr walnut and figured walnut inlaid with flowers and kingwood cross-banded border over a shaped frieze profusely inlaid with flowers and scrolls flanked by four geometric parquetry corners with gilded bronze mounts in the form of olive-leaves and ribbons supported on tulipwood and purple-heart turnings above elegantly tapering faceted legs which meet a marquetry and parquetry serpentine stretcher terminating in four tapering brass castors.
