French Parquetry Side Cabinet: Exceptional 19th century French kingwood parquetry pier cabinet, the original conglomerate marble top above a frieze housing a single drawer embellished with exceptional quality neo-classical ormolu (gilded bronze) mounts in the form of sphinxes, flowers and leaves which house a single drawer with drop handles above a geometric parquetry panelled door further embellished with gilded bronze in the form of a basket prolific with flowers and leaves which opens to reveal a mahogany lined interior with single shelf flanked by a pair of panelled parquetry sides all raised on four turned tapering mahogany legs.

As part of restoration, we can clean and gently re-polish and or wax this piece of antique furniture depending on your individual taste. Our French polisher has been with us for 40 years, and does everything by hand. No spray guns, and no nasty polyurethane sprays. Polishing allows the grain of the piece of furniture to become evident once again, and waxing provides a soft glow, however there is also the option to keep the piece in totally original condition if this is your preference.
