Wallrocks offers an eclectic, high quality collection of antique occasional tables for luxury Australian homes. We travel the world to hand source some of the finest examples of genuine 18th and 19th century antique occasional tables and which act as a beautiful addition to any home.
Our antique side table collection consists of decorative inlaid sofa tables, etageres, gueridons and demi-lune tables, each with their own unique characteristics. A good example of this was the Pembroke table – a small drop-leaf table originally designed for occasional use, which emerged in the late 18th century. Innovative in its design, this versatile table was small enough to be stored or tucked into a corner, but when opened was large enough to offer a good sized table top which could be used for writing, dining or serving tea. Most commonly supported on four legs, antique side tables can also be three-legged known as a tripod support, or on a single heavier pedestal base.In addition to the chair, the table is probably the most utilised piece of furniture – versatile in their nature, our collection of antique 19th century Regency, French Empire, Louis XV, Louis XVI and Georgian antique occasional tables offers a beautiful feature for a room.
Another popular style is the Nest of Tables or Quartetto tables – put simple a small set of graduated side tables that can be stacked together, each one sliding into the next larger. Ideal for a small space, and perfect for occasional use when needed.
