French Four Poster Queen Bed: An important early 20th century French marquetry four poster queen size bed, the original bonnet-top mahogany canopy with gilded bronze mounts supported on four turned posts carved with acanthus leaves which meet shaped marquetry head and footboards with well carved mahogany in the form of oak leaves and acanthus leaves above profusely inlaid panels with box and pear woods in the form of cornucopia, flowers, scrolls and leaves all embellished with exceptional quality gilded bronze mounts. Unusually the bed is joined by inlaid parquetry and ormolu rails. It is difficult to overstate the quality of this bed. In excellent original condition.

As part of restoration, we can clean and gently re-polish and or wax this piece of antique furniture depending on your individual taste. Our French polisher has been with us for 40 years, and does everything by hand. No spray guns, and no nasty polyurethane sprays. Polishing allows the grain of the piece of furniture to become evident once again, and waxing provides a soft glow, however there is also the option to keep the piece in totally original condition if this is your preference.
