This house is a living example of how different styles and eras can come together successfully in a classical home. Most of the furniture in the house is 19th century though the styles take from 19th century right through to modern day – importantly they all combine beautifully from a design perspective – perhaps more importantly they add soul to the home and help tell a family story.

We start in the entrance way – a statement. A beautiful 19th Century French commode – fine marquetry drawers and an unusual marquetry top – typically you see marble tops.

We take a look at a 19th Century Italian Parcel Gilt bed – original gold leaf, beautiful quality and in original condition. A piece to make the heart soar!

At the top of the house, a fine quality 19th century French writing desk, warming the study nook with a quarter veneered kingwood top, original ormolu border, and four elegant cabriole legs. This is paired with a fine quality 19th century gilded pair of English armchairs in the French manner.

Finally, the coffee table – a 20th century beauty full of bronze and glass. Importantly, it has been paired to great effect with 19th century pieces – walnut, gilt it all comes together to create a beautiful space.

A similar coffee table can be seen here.
