This beautiful piece is a late 18th century English oak antique dresser base. The original oak plank top above a shaped frieze housing three drawers with original handles supported on four square tapering legs. It is 1930mm long, is 460mm deep and is 850mm high.
The piece would have originally had a plate rack and stood well over 2 metres high. It is quite common to see the plate racks removed, essentially to provide versatility and use in a modern home. And versatile they are – fabulous as both a side table or a sofa table!
More, the beautiful yet subtle feature are numerous – everything from the gorgeous curved apron to the worn edges and the shrunken plank top, this piece oozes character.
