Antiques Albion

Exploring antiques in Albion… what better way to while away a day. Wallrock Antiques was recently lucky enough to have been part of Channel 7’s The Great Day Out program which aired on Sunday 17th Feb and looked at all the great things there are to see and do in the Albion precinct. The program touched on how dramatically the area has changed in the last eight years from light industrial to commercial and now includes a raft of coffee shops, luxury apartment blocks and luxury retailers.

Located in Brisbane’s inner north, 5 minutes drive from the CBD and ten minutes to the airport, not far from Ascot’s Racecourse Road and just around the corner from the delicious Jocelyn’s Provisions there is plenty to do in the area. When we’re in need of caffeine to pick us up we head to Fonzie Abbott just up the street who do a great cappuccino. When you’re tired of eating why not stop off at Wallrocks for a wander through some of the finest quality antique furniture to be found in Australia, antiques Albion. We have everything from French country dining tables, gilded mirrors, architectural antiques including magnificent doors and iron gates and everything in between.

When Wallrocks moved to Albion over ten years ago now the area was light industrial and impossible to find either food or coffee in close proximity. The area since then has rapidly evolved as development from Hamilton has moved progressively down the hill. Albion has without intention become somewhat of a precinct for antique furniture with a local antique auction house, antique conglomerate close by and of course Wallrocks.

If you’re in the area and looking for something to do for the day, please feel free to stop by and say hello and browse our treasure trove of beautiful antiques Albion.
