Exceptional 19th century French Empire cheval mirror, the fine quality mahogany pediment carved with scroll above a plum-pudding panel embellished with gilded pierced bronze mounts in the form of a pair of swans flanking an urn above a pair of mahogany uprights supporting an adjustable swivel dressing mirror mounted with ormolu in the form of leaves over a panel further decorated with pierced gilded bronze leaves flanked by a pair of paw feet on castors.

Condition: This beautiful statement mirror is in exceptional condition and has been cleaned and polished. The mirror is structurally sound.

This is a rare cheval mirror well suited to an array of curated interior designs as a beautiful heirloom piece that becomes a focal point within a room.

Our French polisher has been with us for 40 years, and does everything by hand. No spray guns, and no nasty polyurethane sprays. Polishing allows the grain of the piece of furniture to become evident once again, and waxing provides a soft glow, however there is also the option to keep the piece in totally original condition if this is your preference.
