Our Antique Collection.
This particular collection of antiques is eclectic in its variety, with a combination of English Regency, Louis XV and XVI, some 18th century Georgian gems, French Empire and English country and French provincial furniture. We have featured some of our favourite pieces below.
- An exceptional and unusual, large pair 19th century French antique gilded bronze lanterns of very large proportions. So difficult to find a large pair.
2. This exceptional early 19th century mirror is simply outstanding quality, intricately carved in deep relief there is almost 100mm from the front to back of the carving. Retaining all its original gold leaf and original glass, this mirror is the perfect statement for a beautiful entry or living space. Enquire about this mirror.
3. For those that prefer a more relaxed and country feel, the below 18th century French provincial commode is unusual in that it has been constructed entirely of beautiful European Elm, with figuring and a grain structure similar though more complex than oak. The panelling through the drawers and sides has been beautifully done creating dimension and shape and the inlaid parquetry design in the top much better than usual. 4. This 19th century French queen size bed is also an extremely fine example of its kind. One expects to see carvings across the top of a bed frame, but rarely do we expect to see them running across and down the sides and insides of the frame. On this beautiful bed, the wood carver has switched from a scaled pattern to beautiful flowers and leaves depending on the section of the bed and continues this along the rails. 5. This beautiful set of 19th century gilded chairs are exquisitely carved and detailed, featuring pretty little carved flowers on top and the fabric is in excellent condition. Enquire about this set of dining chairs.
6. This beautiful table resided in the French Embassy in Madrid for many years. with its stamps underneath Commissioned in the 1950’s, this table is made in the French Empire manner and to the same standard. High quality mahogany parquetry above a frieze embellished with half-round brass mouldings supported on fine square tapering legs. As a rule we do not typically buy vintage furniture as manufacturing quality deteriorated post 1920, however this table was such fine quality with such lovely provenance, we made a delighted exception.
