Reimagined: 19th Century French Gilded Chaise: Fine quality 19th century French gilded Louis XV chaise longue, the well carved and gilded frame join scrolling armrests surrounding a blue silk upholstered back seat and chaise which separates to form two separate armchairs. Price excludes fabric and re-upholstery. For those that wish to re-cover, we have included a small sample of fabric ideas in the photo gallery for inspiration. Please enquire for a quote.

Restoration Chart

Re-polishing or Waxing

As part of restoration, we can clean and gently re-polish and or wax this piece of antique furniture depending on your individual taste. Our French polisher has been with us for 40 years, and does everything by hand. No spray guns, and no nasty polyurethane sprays. Polishing allows the grain of the piece of furniture to become evident once again, and waxing provides a soft glow, however there is also the option to keep the piece in totally original condition if this is your preference. Redecorating and Finishing

We buy our furniture in original condition. Sometimes, the condition of the paint-work and gilding (decoration) needs some attention. We work closely with you to respectfully restore the paintwork and gilding on the furniture. Whether you prefer the hallmarks of age, or like your antique to look perfect, like the antique as it is or would prefer the colour changed, we can cater to all tastes during restoration.
