Exceptional Side Table by Dasson: Exceptional 19th century French inlaid side table by Dasson, the top inlaid in the form of musical instruments with a purple-heart string inlay over an ormolu mounted frieze housing a single mahogany lined drawer supported on four cabriole legs joined by a shelf with pierced brass frieze.
Footnote: One of the most distinguished ébénistes of 19th century France, where he re-created exceptional examples of Louis XV and Louis XVI work. Recognised for his extreme attention to detail, he won a Gold Medal at the Paris Exposition Universelle in 1889 and his pieces were acquired by the Museum Decorative Arts in Berlin, Lady Ashburton and Lord Dudley to name just a few.
