Exceptional 19th century English mahogony partners' writing desk fitted with drawers both sides. The ends of most large desks are blank, having no decoration which gives a somewhat boring 'wall-like' appearance. The ends of this desk have been finished to show a pair of drawer fronts and a pair of well-moulded cupboard doors, all of which are facades.
